Wine Stem Chronicles is the story of the wine in my glass. The first wine stem dates back to 1450, when the cristallo glass was invented in Venice using a technique to make glass clear. As the first colorless wine glass, it enhanced both wine appearance and drinker enjoyment.
I will chronicle where I am, who I am with, what I am tasting, and why I love the wine in my stem. You will learn about the vine to wine journey as I chronicle, so you can travel along with me and continue to expand your own wine knowledge. Whether I taste in a local wine shop, travel to wine regions, or gather with friends, you can follow my wine stem chronicles.
I hope your wine stem chronicles are as fruitful and ever expanding as mine.

DipWSET, PhD
I have always had a passion for wine, and learning about the journey from the vineyard to the glass is what inspired me to take up wine studies. In 2021, I completed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Diploma of Wine with Merit and joined the only 11,000 others around the world with this wine credential. My PhD in Food Science and Technology along with a background in food flavors, tasting expertise and wine education provide me with a well-rounded ability to inspire wine passion, provide gastronomic experiences through paired food/wine tastings, private tastings and everyday wine knowledge. My goal is for wine lovers to continually expand wines they drink by increasing their knowledge and palate.
