A Trip To Champagne

What could be better than a trip to Champagne region in France to taste my favorite wines! While in Champagne, I visited major champagne houses: Ruinart, Tattinger, Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and had an amazing meal at the three Michelin Assiette Champenoise Arneud Lallement. We tasted recent and aged vintage champagnes at all of the houses. Each house showcased their style of champagne made from one or more of the three grapes typical in champagnes (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier). Touring deep into the underground caves in the town gave further insight into the influence of the caves on wine aging. Did you know that non-vintage champagnes are aged three years and vintage champagnes four-five years?

The highlight of my trip was the Veuve Clicquot The Art of Aging tour. First, tasting berries and herbs in the garden led to a tour of the caves and ended with a cheese/champagne pairing of 4 aged vintages of Veuve Clicquot. A sensory experience not to be missed!

Let us walk you through a champagne private tasting at your next event.

The gardens of Veuve Clicquot offer a tasting of herbs and berries that typify flavors found in their champagne. A sensory experience for every wine lover.
