We recently traveled to France’s Loire Valley for an in-depth wine tour with Wine Scholar Guild. The tour was led by Pascaline Lepeltier. We traveled across the region (from Nantes to Anjou-Saumur, Touraine, and Central Loire to experience sparkling wine, still white (Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Muscadet), red wine (Chinon from Cabernet Franc) and sweet wines (Coteaux de Layon) from the region while learning about the climate, soils, viticulture and vinification. The week was filled with many food/wine pairings, and we tasted close to 300 wines… Whew, not for the faint of heart. What an amazing study of wines from Loire Valley. So many wonderful wines we can share with you in private tasting events.
